Bethany Village To Host 2014 Summer Series Workshops for Social Workers

Bethany Village, a continuing care retirement community in Dayton, Ohio, will host the 2014 Summer Series Workshops for social workers and counselors. The workshops are sponsored in part by Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley, Family Service Association, Inc., Graceworks Lutheran Services and Jewish Family Services of Greater Dayton.

Bethany Village is sponsored by Graceworks Lutheran Services, a non-profit organization in three states serving seniors, those with intellectual disabilities, and financial hardship.

The workshop series will offer social workers and related professionals the chance to earn 30 CEUs (continuing education credits). The workshops begin May 9 and continue through September 12. Exact topics and date are:

May 9 – Negative Impact of Overindulgence on Children: Helping Parents to Change (6 CEU credits)
June 13 – Becoming a Manager: Managing the Transition (3 CEU credits)
June 13 – Coping with Organizational Change: A Process, Not an Event (3 CEU credits)
July 11 – Overview of Substance Use Disorder (3 CEU credits)
July 11 – Don’t Talk, Don’t Trust, Don’t Feel: Growing Up with an Addicted Parent (3 CEU credits)
August 8 – Interdisciplinary Models of Community-based Dementia Care (3 CEU credits)
August 8 – Facebooking, Googling & Tweeting: Cyber Ethics for Social Workers (3 CEU credits)
September 12 – Bullying Prevention & Intervention (3 CEU credits)
September 12 – Medicaid Fraud, Abuse & Health Care Schemes; Including Care of Seniors in Residential Settings (3 CEU credits)
