Annual Delegates Meeting Held

Each spring, Graceworks Lutheran Services invites member congregations to the campus of Bethany Village for an annual meeting of the delegate body. Graceworks currently has 43 member congregations. Board Chair Jeff Teeters presided over the business portion of the meeting which included the approval of minutes and voting on new board members. Board members Ron Long and Violet Sharpe were recognized for their expertise and dedicated service of three consecutive three year terms on the Board of Directors.

As part of the evening’s agenda, Bill Serr, President and CEO, addressed the delegates by reflecting on Graceworks Values as a guide for current initiatives and challenges. As Graceworks operates within changing healthcare and government-regulated environments, “it becomes even more important that we know who we are and what we value,” he said.

The real excitement of the evening began when Pastor Larry Hoffsis, mission integration consultant for Graceworks, led a special worship celebration which helped bring our annual report to life. Storytellers helped paint the picture of those volunteers, residents, and staff that help Graceworks fulfill its mission of Faithful Caring.

While not every church we have a relationship with was able to send a representative to the meeting, there was still record attendance. Special music was provided by the talented trio of Lowell Woodrey, keyboard; Jerry Robinson, saxophone; and John Matre, bass. Bethany Village executive chef Eric Williams provided a special dinner for all who attended.
